Services I Provide
As a Postpartum Doula, I go into the home and help for the first few weeks of
life of the baby. My role is to provide education, non-judgmental and emotional
support and companionship. I assist parents master the feeding and the care of
their newborn, twins or triplets.
Here is a list of the services I provide:
• providing lactation counselling
• assisting and demonstrating infant care
• answering questions about newborn care
• preparing nutritious meals and snacks
• spending time with your baby so that you can rest, eat, bathe
• taking care of household tasks, so you can be with your baby
• doing laundry
• keeping your home tidy (light housekeeping)
• tending to and supporting siblings
• running errands for you
To arrange a meeting, you can contact me before or after giving birth. In our
first meeting, we will discuss the services I offer and I can answer your specific
questions and see if we are a good fit. It is important that you feel comfortable
with your Postpartum Doula because she will be part of your family at a time
where you might feel a little vulnerable. Due to the sometimes urgent nature of
families needs, scheduling is done on first come first serve basis
Rate: $25/hour. I work days in shifts of 3 hours (minimum) to 6 hours. Upon
signing the contract, I require a non-refundable retainer of 200$ to hold your
space in my calendar. The deposit will be put towards your 8 first hours payment.
As a Certified Lactation Counsellor, I help with the latch, finding comfortable
breastfeeding positions, helping preventing sore nipples, dealing with
engorgement, helping you with breast pumping, give information on milk storage
and safe handling procedures, weighing baby before and after a feed to attest
good milk transfer (if low milk production is suspected), helping with issues of
oversupply and provide emotional support.
Rate: 60$ per visit, when separate Lactation Counselling sessions are needed.
My home visits last between 1 ½ to 2 hours.
